Town Hall Meeting on Undergraduate Study Planned

Students are being asked to share their ideas and opinions about the future of undergraduate study at U of G during a special town hall meeting Wednesday, April 12, from 9 to 10:30 p.m. in Room 103 of the University Centre.

The gathering is sponsored by the 21st-Century Curriculum Committee, the advisory committee that is undertaking consultations on the White Paper. Released last fall, the White Paper is intended to stimulate thought and action on what U of G needs to do as an institution to maintain its leadership in undergraduate education and innovation.

“This town hall is another forum through which we hope to collect feedback and input from students about the White Paper and the future of undergraduate education on campus,” says Prof. Alan Shepard, associate vice-president (academic) and chair of the 21st-Century Curriculum Committee. Free pizza will be provided, he adds.

Already, the committee has held some 40 in-depth consultations with various departments and units, and further discussions and public meetings will be held in the spring. “We want to engage the entire University community in the evaluation,” Shepard says.
