The list contains the names of 93 people at U of G including senior administrators, deans and professors. Ninety-one per cent of those on the list are faculty or academic administrators with faculty rank. With some 2,500 full-time faculty and staff and an annual budget of approximately $400 million the University is the largest public-sector employer in Guelph and Wellington County. It is estimated that the University generates about $673 million annually in local economic activity, representing about 15 per cent of the local economy. There are approximately 15,000 full- and part-time students registered at University of Guelph. In addition, when compared to other Ontario universities, U of G spends among the smallest share of its budget -- 2.9 per cent -- on administration. Guelph is the second most research intensive university in Canada, the first among non-medical schools, with total research funding in excess of $100 million in 2001.
