The University of Guelph’s Office of Open Learning, in collaboration with the Office for Partnerships for Advanced Skills (OPAS), is presenting “Visionary Seminar 2001,” a video conference featuring Mike Lazaridis, president and CEO of Research in Motion (RIM), Nov. 7 at the River Run Centre.

Lazaridis, recipient of the Visionary Award for 2001 from the Office of Partnerships for Advanced Skills (OPAS), will discuss “Wireless Breakthroughs,” at 12:15 p.m. The free event will be preceded by a complimentary lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. It is open to the public, but advance registration is required by calling 767-5000.

The event is also being sponsored by the Guelph Chamber of Commerce and Bell. OPAS is a partnership of all Ontario universities and leading Canadian companies dedicated to advancing the competencies of organizations and individuals.
