Marianne van den Heuvel, a post-doc researcher in Biomedical Sciences, received the 2002-2003 Ontario Women's Health Scholars Postdoctoral Fellow Award. It was established to ensure that Ontario attracts and retains pre-eminent women's health scholars and is supported by the Ontario Women's Health Council and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The aim is to create new knowledge about women's health and promote improved health care and more effective services and products for women. Graduate student Sirirak (Pom) Chantakru received the Research Publication Award from the Canadian Association of Anatomy, Neurobiology and Cell Biology (CAANCB). The award is presented to a graduate student who authors the most outstanding original publication in anatomy, neurobiology or cell biology. Chantakru’s paper, “Contributions from Self-Renewal and Trafficking to the Uterine NK Cell Population in Early Pregnancy,” was published this summer in the Journal of Immunology. She was also the recipient of the 2002 Arthur W. Ham Award from the CAANCB. |
