Nominees sought for UGAA Alumni Awards of Excellence
The University of Guelph Alumni Association invites nominations for its three annual awards of excellence — Alumnus of Honour, Alumni Medal of Achievement and Alumni Volunteer Award.
The Alumnus of Honour award celebrates the achievements of alumni who have brought great honour to their alma mater through professional, community and personal endeavours. The Alumni Medal of Achievement recognizes a graduate of the last 15 years who has achieved excellence through contributions to country, community, profession or the world of arts and letters. The Alumni Volunteer Award honours alumni who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to their alma mater by supporting U of G through volunteer work.
Nomination forms for these three awards are available from the UGAA via the Department of Alumni Affairs at alumni.uoguelph.ca or Ext. 6544. Nominations are due Jan. 31 and should be submitted to UGAA, directed to the attention of Mary Ann Grape, chair of the UGAA Honours and Awards Committee, c/o Alumni House.
Nominations are also sought for the OVC Distinguished Alumnus award, which recognizes an OVC graduate who has brought honour to the college and other Guelph alumni through leadership and service to country, science, education, profession or alma mater. Nominations should be submitted by Jan. 31 to the OVC Alumni Association, directed to the attention of committee chair Grant Scherer, c/o Alumni House. In addition, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management seeks nominees for the George Bedell Award of Excellence, which is presented to graduate who best represents the school in professionalism, achievement and contributions to the hospitality industry. Nominations are due Feb. 28 and should be submitted to committee chair Jeff Dover, c/o Laurie Malleau, Alumni House. For more information, call Malleau at Ext. 2102.
