The web site, www.guelphvotes.ca, includes information about local candidates and political parties, as well as general information about voting and the election. "It’s a great way to find out more about the candidates in your area and the issues that interest you," says Ryan White, CSA’s external commissioner. "Providing concise, accurate information in an accessible manner is one way the CSA is hoping to engage young voters this year." There is an ongoing national effort to increase student awareness and participation in elections. The Canadian Federation of Students, the country’s largest student organization, also launched an online elections resource that provides information and analysis of postsecondary education policy. |
