Portion of Reynolds Walk to close, crosswalk lights being relocated
Starting the week of Aug. 23, a section of Reynolds Walk will be closed and workers will begin relocating crosswalk lights at Reynolds Walk and Gordon Street in preparation for the demolition of the Chemistry and Microbiology Building and Phase 2 of the Science Complex.
Reynolds Walk between Gordon Street and the McNaughton Building will be closed until spring 2007 when Phase 2 of the Science Complex is scheduled for completion. Fencing and signs will be posted in the area to redirect people, and a new pedestrian path is being added between the Axelrod Building and the Hagen Aqualab as an alternative route.
As well, the crosswalk lights at Reynolds Walk and Gordon Street will be permanently relocated to the walkway on the south side of Johnston Green (Stadium Walk) where it meets Gordon Street across from the Food Science Building.
“All of these initiatives are being done for the safety of pedestrians and to help facilitate the demolition project and the new construction work,” says Angleo Gismondi, SuperBuild senior project manager. “We thank everyone for their patience and for contributing to the success of the Science Complex.”
