OVC to be Featured on CTV Program

The work of the Ontario Veterinary College will be in the national spotlight this weekend.

Saturday at 7 p.m., CTV’s current affairs program W-FIVE will broadcast an updated version of Never Give Up, a documentary that follows faculty, students, clients and patients at U of G’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH).

The original hour-long program, shot at OVC by the Gemini Award-winning current affairs program last spring, has been edited to a half hour. It also contains new footage, updating the progress of Badger, a dog that was critically injured and brought to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Kitchener. The new footage shows Badger at home with his family.

“We are very pleased that CTV has decided to rebroadcast the program,” says hospital director Chris Brown.

“The original broadcast earned one of the highest ratings W-FIVE has ever received. Feedback was very positive and confirmed what we already know: the people who work in the VTH do a remarkable job day in and day out, providing superb patient care and an excellent clinical learning environment.”

The program will air in most markets across the country; viewers should check local listings.

W-FIVE is Canada’s highest-rated current affairs program and is renowned for its investigative reports, in-depth treatments of breaking news stories and inspirational personal stories.
