OVC Pet Trust reaches out at community events
The weekend of June 10-11 will be a busy time for OVC Pet Trust.
Friends and supporters will be participating in two major events for dogs and dog lovers.
On Sunday, June 11, dog owners and their canine companions are invited to take part in the fourth annual Smiling Blue Skies Walk for Canine Cancer, Paws for a Cause.
Each year, the walk has become more successful, so this year’s event will be held at three locations: Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville, Ont.; the Muskokas at Torrance Barren Trails in Torrance, Ont.; and North Glenmore Park in Calgary, Alta.
The Bronte Creek walk will feature a live performance by Chris Cummings.
Proceeds from the walk go to support cancer research at the Ontario Veterinary College.
Smiling Blue Skies is a support network formed by Suzi Beber following the death in 2001 of her Golden Retriever, Blues. Since that time, the group has raised more than $50,000 to support advances in cancer research and treatment at OVC.

On June 10-11, Pet Trust will be an exhibitor at Woofstock, an annual festival for dogs and the people who live with them. The largest event of its kind, this year’s festival will take place in Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood District. There’s free admission, entertainment, the latest in products for your pooch from more than 100 companies, and more than 40,000 people and their dogs to share in the fun.
