Search under way for Director, Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses (CPHAZ)
The Ontario Veterinary College invites applications for the position of Director, Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses (CPHAZ). This exciting new centre is designed to enhance the contribution that knowledge of animal diseases makes to the health of Canadians. Appointment will be at the level of Associate or full Professor and it is expected that the Director will be appointed to a tenured or tenured track faculty position in one of the four academic departments at the Ontario Veterinary College. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) with a strong record of scholarly activity and demonstrated leadership.
Reporting to the Dean of OVC, the Director will be appointed to a 5-year term that is renewable once, following review. The Director will devote 0.5 FTE to leadership of the organization. The remaining 0.5 FTE will be for research and graduate education. The Director will play a leadership role in liaising and facilitating collaborations among scientists from various groups in academia, government and industry. The successful candidate will participate in the CPHAZ Advisory Committee, will lead the CPHAZ Scientific Committee, and will have overall responsibility for the operations of the Centre. The Director will play a critical role in advancing public health research and education at the Ontario Veterinary College.
