U of G Coach Wins Gold at World Games

Ohenewa Akuffo, the assistant coach of U of G's women's wrestling program, captured the gold medal in wrestling in the 72 kg weight class at the World University Summer Games in Turkey.
Akuffo eliminated defeated Kateryna Burmistrova from Ukrania in the final match.
Tara Hedican, a two-time winner of U of G's Female Athlete of the Year award, placed seventh in the 63 kg weight category.
The world summer games features some 8,000 athletes from 170 countries and is second in size to the Olympics. Two U of G track and field coaches, Dave Scott-Thomas and Jim Wardle, are also at the games serving as coaches.
