Community Breakfast to be Held Sept. 7

The fourth annual University of Guelph Community Breakfast will be held Thursday, Sept. 7 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Gryphon Dome.
The event, started by president Alastair Summerlee in 2003, celebrates the start of the new academic year and the achievements of staff and faculty who make significant contributions to University.
Employees who have dedicated 25 years of service to U of G will be honoured. The nominees and recipients of the 2006 President’s Awards for Exemplary Staff Service will also be recognized. The awards honour employees who have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and exceeded the expectations of their normal job responsibilities
Other awards to be handed out are the Undergraduate Academic Advising Medallion, the University of Guelph Alumni Association Employee Volunteer Award, and the Susanne Sprowl Community Service Award, which recognizes significant contributions to the betterment of the University and the external community through community spirit and volunteer work.
During the breakfast, Summerlee will also speak to the U of G community, celebrating the achievements over the past year and talking of challenges that lie ahead.
