Update on UGFA Negotiations
March 05, 2008 - Campus Bulletin
This campus bulletin is intended to update you on deliberations between the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) and the University administration.
The two parties have been engaged in discussions regarding a new contract for some months now. This is the first contract negotiated since the faculty voted to unionize and it is not unexpected that there have been protracted discussions on a number of issues.
Both sides have been working hard to resolve these issues and have been meeting with a third-party mediator for the past few weeks. Six more meetings are planned in the next week.
The University remains optimistic that a fair settlement will be reached. However, it is important to make the campus community aware that UGFA will be in a legal strike position as of March 14.
We will communicate with you on a regular basis to ensure that you remain fully informed. Please monitor this website for updates and information.
