November 20, 2009 - In the News
A U of G professor will be featured on the popular TVO children's program Taste Buds Monday evening. Prof. Rich Moccia, associate vice-president (research) agri-food and partnerships and an animal and poultry science professor, is scheduled to appear in an episode airing Nov. 23 and Nov. 28.
Taste Buds is a cooking show hosted by children that teaches youth to think about what they eat and explore new foods. Episodes are shot in locations in and around southern Ontario and feature various food-related themes.
Moccia will be featured in the second part of an episode called “Foods for the Brain,” talking and answering questions about fish. The segment was filmed last spring at the Alma Aquaculture Research Station, which Moccia helped develop and directs. The state-of-the-art research and development facility is the backbone of the University's fish production research program.
The Taste Buds episode featuring Moccia airs Monday at 6 p.m. and will be rebroadcast Saturday at 11 a.m. on TVO.
