Provincial Budget Includes Student Funding, Salary Freeze

The Ontario government's 2010 budget presented yesterday includes committed base funding for 20,000 college and university spaces across Ontario in the fall.
In his budget speech, Dwight Duncan, minister of finance, also mentioned an immediate public-sector salary freeze.
The University is still awaiting details of how and when U of G salaries will be affected. Once information is available, it will be shared with employee groups.
The Council of Ontario Universities has released a statement about the budget.
