Pathobiology professor Doug Campbell was featured on the Discovery Channel show Daily Planet Wednesday discussing his research on white nose syndrome in bats.
Named for a distinctive white ring of fungal growth around the muzzles and on the wings of affected bats, the condition is responsible for the deaths of more than a million bats. It is known to exist in the United States and is possibly spreading to Canada.
Campbell is focused on understanding the condition as well as investigating how widespread it is in Canada.
