Economics Prof Makes Headlines

June 15, 2012 - In the News

An opinion piece by economics professor Thanasis Stengos was published today in the Wall Street Journal. Stengos authored the article with five other economists from Greece, England and the United States on the upcoming vote “euro exit” vote in Greece and the consequences for that country and others.

The economists say that there may be a number of markets severely affected by a Greek exit, and that most voters do not know or understand the full consequences of leaving the euro zone.

The article’s other authors are Nicholas Economides, New York University Stern School of Business; Yannis Ioannides, Tufts University; Emmanuel Petrakis, University of Crete; and Christopher Pissarides, a 2010 Nobel laureate at the London School of Economics.
