U of G Hosts Alumni Weekend 2012
June 14, 2012 - News Release
The University of Guelph campus will welcome more than 1,000 guests to Alumni Weekend June 15-16. “Students for a short time, alumni for life” is the theme of the event, which will include more than 30 class reunions.
“Alumni gatherings are the time for recalling with classmates the challenges and triumphs of our undergraduate days,” said Ted Valli, this year’s honorary chair and a 1962 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC).
“We can now reflect on how our academic background achieved at Guelph has shaped and advanced our careers. We can also be justifiably proud of what a great legacy of innovation the U of G has provided to Ontario, to Canada and to the worldwide community. The advances at the University in the 50 years since our graduation comprise a remarkable heritage of advancement. These achievements are not only in the discovery of new knowledge but also in quality of teaching programs. Guelph can proudly claim to be contributing to a better planet.”
