These self-driving, weed-cutting robots will "transform the future of farming," says Dr. Mary Ruth McDonald [1], professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture [2] within the Ontario Agricultural College. [3]
McDonald and her team are assessing the strengths and economic benefits of two farm robots and anticipates the robots will help address future agricultural labour shortages. The three-year project, which began in 2023, is taking place at the Ontario Crops Research Centre [4] and farms in Bradford, Ont.
