The Animal Health and Agriculture & Food laboratories are an important component of the partnership between the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness and the University of Guelph. They provide diagnostic and analytical services to a broad array of agri-food clients, including those in government, industry and academia. With over 150 professionals on staff and with direct access to U of G researchers, these labs provide key surge capacity in the event of an agri-food or other emergency. Each is a full service, accredited lab providing its clients with state-of-the-art technology and expertise.
The Animal Health Laboratory – supporting diagnostics and surveillance
The Animal Health Laboratory (AHL) at the U of G specializes in determining the health of livestock, poultry, horses and pets through a wide array of tests, and in turn provides disease surveillance data for the province of Ontario.
