Research Summary: Salmonella Dublin is a zoonotic pathogen that causes substantial disease outbreaks and reduced milk yield in Ontario dairy herds. The objective of this project is to gain insight surrounding the prevalence and risk factors of Salmonella Dublin on Ontario dairy farms. This information will aid producers and veterinarians in identifying means of controlling this newly emerging pathogen, subsequently improving food safety and reducing cow morbidity and mortality.
