This virtual centre is a not-for-profit organization designed to support farmers with a research-to-action approach to mental health. Dr. Andria Jones-Bitton and Dr. Briana Hagen, co-developers of the mental health literacy program In the Know [1] and recent winners of a U of G Innovation of the Year award [2], are on the Centre's roster.
The CCAW will work with provincial and national partners to advance farmer mental health research, clinical programming, education and advocacy.
Jones-Bitton began working on the In the Know program in 2015 with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and matching funds from a number of agricultural organizations.
