In this course we will focus on the writings of the brilliant 20th-century thinker, Michel Foucault (1926-1984). Students will learn and come to appreciate the significance and usefulness of some of his central concepts: episteme, power-knowledge, discourse analysis, panopticism, governmentality, dispositifs, biopower, critical history, genealogy, archaeology.
