This course will include studies on the Ibo, Yoruba and Edo, societies; on the Dahomey, Hausa, Western Congo and Angola states; and the effect of the Atlantic slave trade on African societies. Emphasis will be given to the householding system, linage group organization, subsistence agriculture, and the sources of African History.
