In this course we look at science from a variety of philosophical perspectives. First, we examine scientific reasoning from a radically empiricist perspective (Nelson Goodman). Second, we look at scientific revolutions and how new scientific paradigms are developed and adopted (Thomas Kuhn). Third, we explore the impact of the Internet and “google-knowing” on the manufacture and control of knowledge in science and beyond (Michael Lynch).
