The Idea Bank
The UofG Idea Bank
The Idea Bank is a collection of current and future sustainability projects for the University of Guelph campus.
The Idea Bank project ideas come from various inspirations and often come directly from conversations with UofG students, staff, and faculty, who pitch ideas of what they'd like to see at the University of Guelph.
The Idea Bank is a direct extension of our office's Sustainability Ambassador Program (SAP), giving University of Guelph students, staff, faculty and alums an entry point for leading action-oriented change on campus.
All the ideas in the Idea Bank require someone to lead them. All project shows and project volunteers are known as Sustainability Ambassadors. You can learn about the Sustainability Ambassador program, its benefits, and its requirements here.
Lead a Project
If you are interested in signing up for one of these ideas, please email Sam (she/her) at sustainability@uoguelph.ca for the next steps, which will include answering a set of survey questions, completing a short proposal for how you'd lead the idea, and then booking up a virtual meeting to discuss the project and get it started.
Pitch an Idea
We are always open to new and innovative ideas! If you would like to share an idea not already covered on this page, whether or not you can lead it yourself, please email Sam (she/her) at sustainability@uoguelph.ca.
Donate an Idea
Do you have an idea for a project and need more time or capacity to bring it to life? You can donate it to the Idea Bank for other University of Guelph community members to pick up. If you donate an idea to the Idea Bank, you can share in what capacity you'd like to be involved with the project if it is picked up, for example, as an active mentor or supporter.
To donate an idea, please email Sam (she/her) at sustainability@uoguelph.ca with a brief description of your vision.
