Dr. Christina Caruso is Appointed CBS Representative in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Dr. Christina Caruso, a professor in the Department of Integrative Biology, has been appointed as the CBS Representative in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Dr. Caruso is an associate professor in the College of Biological Science, where she studies the ecology and evolution of wild plant populations. She received her PhD at the University of Illinois and held postdoctoral positions at Grinnell College and Duke University before moving to Guelph in 2003. She has served on the Department of Integrative Biology's EDI committee since its inception, including one term as co-chair. As the inaugural CBS Representative in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, she will be working with all three departments to make their tenure and promotion processes more equitable.
The CBS Representative in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is a college-level service role with responsibility for coordinating information, actions, and initiatives across the College’s departments. Primary responsibilities will include chairing the College EDI committee, membership in department EDI committees, interacting with students, staff, and faculty on EDI issues and concerns, and advancing college and university commitments to EDI principles.
