University of Guelph ranked among the top 150 universities for Life Sciences for the second year in a row
The University of Guelph continues to be ranked one of the top 150 universities in the world for Life Sciences, according to the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. Within Canada, this places the University of Guelph as the No. 6 university in the Life Sciences category.
“Our reputation as a hub for excellence in research and teaching in the biological sciences grows year after year,” says Dr. Mazyar Fallah, dean of the College of Biological Science. “These rankings are a testament to the incredible work happening across our college every day.”
The rankings measure performance through scores in several pillars. In the Life Sciences category, the University of Guelph increased its scores in all five categories: research quality, international outlook, research environment, teaching and industry.
The Life Sciences category includes the broad themes of biological sciences, sport science, agriculture and forestry, and veterinary science, and represents the combination of teaching and research impact from the College of Biological Science, Ontario Veterinary College and Ontario Agriculture College.
The Times Higher Education rankings are one of the world’s most respected university rankings. This year, more than 2,000 institutions from 115 countries and territories were ranked.
