University of Guelph ranked among the top 300 universities for Biological Sciences, top 170 for Anatomy and Physiology

For the second year in a row, the University of Guelph has been ranked among the top 251-300 universities in the world in the Biological Sciences subject area, according to the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject. Additionally, in the subject area of Anatomy and Physiology, U of G was ranked 101-170. This is a new ranking for U of G this year.

Biological Sciences is part of the Life Sciences and Medicine subject area. U of G ranked 241st in that subject area this year.

Out of the 55 subjects assessed, U of G was ranked in 12, including sixth in the world for veterinary science and 30th for agriculture and forestry.

In the QS World University Rankings released last year, U of G was named one of the world’s top universities among more than 1,500 institutions ranked, taking 456th place.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject weigh academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, international research networks and H-index, a measure of research impact and productivity. Data is collected through a mixture of surveys completed by academics and employers, research data, such as citations, and QS’s International Research Network, which examines the University’s international research partnerships and co-authorships in subject-specific research.
