Join the Let's Talk Science team at the University of Guelph in celebrating International Women and Girls in STEM Day on February 11th! We'll be hosting a career panel featuring some amazing women who are studying and working in STEM fields and will be talking about their journey into science, their career aspirations, and advice for younger students who are interested in STEM.

Addressing Race in the Classroom: Improving the Student Experience (Part 2)

Join Tameera Mohamed, Cultural Diversity Advisor, for a workshop exploring the experiences of racialized students in the classroom and how instructors can contribute to improving the experiences of students of colour. In this one-and-a-half-hour session, we will explore strategies instructors can use to prevent and address these harms in the classroom.   This event is open to internal U of G only. Please register using your University of Guelph email. Challenges & Opportunities Towards a Zero Waste Plastics Economy  Manju Misra, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Biocomposites  School of Engineering & Department of Plant Agriculture, University of Guelph  The widespread use and reliance on plastic has created waste that is a paramount environmental issue for the world. Biodegradable and compostable plastic is a promising alternative to the single-use plastic. This presentation will highlight the commitments and progress of Canada and India to a vision of zero plastic waste.
