At the Annual Canadian Association of Physicists Congress 2024, held from March 27th to March 31st at Western University, five University of Guelph Physics students distinguished themselves and won notable awards amidst 585 registered delegates.
- Jennika McIntosh, B.Sc. student in Theoretical Physics, won 1st place in the poster competition in nuclear physics and best poster overall.
- Sylvia Luyben, PhD Student working with Dr. Robert Wickham, won 3rd place in the oral competition in physics in medicine and biology.
- Victoria Arbour, master’s student in Physics, won 1st place in the oral competition in physics education.
- Paul Deguire, master's student in Nuclear Astrophysics, won 2nd place in the oral competition in nuclear physics.
- Robin Coleman, PhD Student working with Dr. Carl Svensson, won 1st place in the oral competition in nuclear physics and 3rd place overall.
