June 15. Convocation Ceremonies and Honorary Degree Recipients
The convocation address at the Department’s undergraduate convocation ceremony was given by the honorary degree recipient, Dr. Sylvia Maracle. Dr. Maracle has contributed to the enhancement of the aboriginal community in many ways, and has set a standard of excellence in community service that merits the University's highest honour.
The convocation address at the University’s graduate convocation ceremony was given by the honorary degree recipient, Dr. Tony Arrell. Dr. Arrell is one of the University of Guelph’s truly great alumni. He was nominated for this award by our Department in recognition of his many accomplishments. Tony has had a distinguished career in Canadian business, he has made many important contributions to Canadian society, and he is a valuable advisor to the University of Guelph and to our students.
