The University of Guelph Alumni Volunteer Award was initiated in 1994. Through this award, the alumni association seeks to honour alumni who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to their alma mater by supporting the University of Guelph through significant volunteer leadership. The recipient of this award for 2012 was Warren Jestin. Warren earned a Master’s degree in Economics at the University of Guelph in 1971 and was awarded his doctorate from the University of Toronto in 1977. He is currently the Department's Economist-in-Residence.
