Preparing For The Program

Our three majors provide students with a solid education in applied economics that helps them understand and contribute to tackling current and future challenges in food, agriculture and natural resources. Over the years we have learned that students enter our programs with a variety of different motivations and interests. Here, we want to provide information about the main study areas of our majors so students can find out more how their areas of interest prior to choosing/staring their program.

We have also heard from a number of students that they had not had any exposure to economics and business in high school and found the first year economics courses quite challenging. Therefore, we have also provided material in introductory economics and finance.

We hope that students will find these materials useful and inspiring. It is also intended for high school teachers to develop teaching material for their classes to prepare students for further studies in food, agricultural and resource economics. Feedback on the appropriateness and usefulness of the material is always welcome so that we can continuously improve it.
