In this all-grain brewing class we'll show you how to make this traditional Irish ale.
This beer is an evolution of the London Porter in which the body and strength became fuller and creamier than regular Porter, hence the name stout porter, which became shortened to simply "stout." While the beer appears black, in reality, it's a deep ruby red in colour. Irish stouts are known for their roasty coffee and chocolate flavours. They range from moderately to quite bitter and can have a sweet to dry finish, depending upon the brewer. Unmalted grains such as flaked barley are commonly used to aid head retention and impart body.
Join us for a hands-on experience in brewing beer on a scale that you can easily replicate at home. Our beer-making classes provide an opportunity to get familiar with the ingredients and processes needed to make great beer.
