Forward Food is a sustainable food systems student conference taking place at the University of Guelph on Saturday, March 16th, 2019. The purpose of the conference is to bring Hospitality and Culinary students from across Ontario the opportunity to learn about some of the major environmental sustainability themes arising in the hospitality industry, and to discuss how these themes are impacting the industry globally. The main topics throughout the conference are Food Waste, Plant Based Food, Sustainable Sourcing, and creating Foodscapes in Education. The event will be featuring speakers such as Jonathan Bloom (American food waste author), Shanna Munro (President of Restaurants Canada), Ned Bell (Executive Chef for Oceanwise), and a multitude of other panels, breakout sessions and discussions from some of our industry's sustainable leaders.
Given this opportunity to touch a diverse group of hospitality students, we hope to provide them with the resources to become responsible leaders for a sustainable future.
