Alumni Spotlight: Rachel Baque, BComm '01

Rachel Baque (BComm - HAFA '01) Regional Director of Sales for Diamond Hotel Group's first job in hospitality was at Bloomfield Inn & Angeline’s Restaurant just down the road from where she grew up.

This experience taught her the "ins-and-outs" of the hospitality industry where she decided to enrol in the Hotel and Food Administration (HAFA) program at the University of Guelph. After graduating from HAFA, Baque worked for Starwood Hotels for 14 years in Toronto, Fiji and Sydney, Australia right through to the company merger with Marriott. She then moved back to Canada to start her role with Diamond Hotels in Kingston representing a Delta, a Ramada and two Holiday Inn Express properties in Kingston and Sault Ste Marie in sales.
