The School is grateful for Statia’s commitment and leadership since 2014. Her tremendous contributions include revising the HFTM major, launching the Hospitality Leadership Certificate, hosting our unforgettable 50th Anniversary celebrations, raising $1.5M for the school, overseeing the renovations and opening of the Anita Stewart Food Lab, and much more.

Dr. Mark Holmes has been appointed as Interim Director of the School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management for a one-year term.
Mark joined the School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management in 2017. He has taught many of our courses from Revenue Management to Service Operations at the undergrad and graduate level as well as taking on roles as Hospitality and Tourism MBA co-ordinator, and HTM undergraduate program committee co-chair, Bachelor of Commerce program committee member, tenure and promotion committee member, and awards committee member to name a few.
He holds a BComm in Hospitality & Tourism Management and Master of Spatial Analysis from Toronto Met (Ryerson), and a PhD in Environmental Studies from York. Beyond his academic pursuits and employment, Mark also brings with him industry experience working in full and quick-service restaurants. Mark is also the 2023 President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association of Canada.
