Please join the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management in wishing Dr. Erna van Duren well on her retirement. Erna has been a dedicated faculty member to the University of Guelph, Lang School of Business and Economics, and the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management since 1989 in various roles. Erna started her career here at the University working in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Business (1989 to 2006), then moving to the Department of Business in the Lang School (2006 to 2012) and has been a faculty member of the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management (HFTM) since 2012.
During her 11 years in HFTM, Erna has made significant contributions across the program from helping shape food content in HFTM as well as the development of the Lang Schools MBA. Over this time Erna has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels and worked on research in the areas of strategic management and value chains. Beyond her teaching and industry work, Erna has actively published, and undertaken research supported by OMAFRA funding.
Erna has been a wonderful faculty member, teacher, and colleague, and she will be deeply missed. We wish you all the best in your retirement Erna.
