Class of Human Kinetics 1977 Scholarship
Qualification(s): Student registered in the Human Kinetics major who have completed a minimum of 5.0 credits and no more than 11.0 credits and demonstrate financial need. Award can only be held once. Apply to Student Financial Services by October 7th with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form (NAF). Students will be considered for this award automatically once a N.A.F has been submitted by the deadline date. Selection will be based on highest cumulative average.
Jack K. Barclay Physiology Scholarship
Established in honour of Professor J.K. Barclay, Director of the School of Human Biology from 1989-1991. He was the first chair of the Department of Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences from 1996-2001 and was involved in creating, teaching and implementing HK*3940 Human Physiology. Apply to the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences main office by mid-February. Application recommended but not required. Awarded in the Winter semester.
Qualification(s): Full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a major within the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, who has completed HK*3940 Human Physiology with a minimum 70% average and who has made leadership contributions to the University or the outside community.
Amount: One award of $500
W.H. Boyd Scholarship
Established by the friends of Professor W.H. Boyd. Application recommended but not required. Awarded in the Winter semester.
Qualification(s): Student enrolled in the Human Kinetics major who has completed Human Anatomy and who has made leadership contributions to the University or outside community. Semester(s): 7 or 8
Amount: One award of $1,500
Hugh Branion Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, based on academic achievement in the first 7 semesters. This scholarship is not tenable with the Brian L. Walker Memorial Scholarship. Application not required.
Qualification(s): Student registered in semester level 8 in B.Sc. Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences major in the Winter semester. Semester(s): 7

Isabella Anderson Conway Scholarship
Application not required.
Qualification(s): Awarded to the student in the Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences major who has achieved the highest combined average in the courses NUTR*3210 Fundamentals of Nutrition and CHEM*2580 Introductory Biochemistry. Semester(s): 6
Amount: One award of $500
CSEP / SCPE Undergraduate Student Award
Provided by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Application not required.
The purpose of the award is to recognize excellence in academic achievement among undergraduate students. The award shall be offered in Canadian universities which offer an undergraduate degree in physical education, human kinetics, or related disciplines. The award shall be administered through Student Awards Office in conjunction with the Chair of the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences. Qualification(s): Awarded to a graduating student who has attained academic excellence in exercise physiology.
Amount: One award of $500
HK/HB Alumni Association Graduation Prize
Provided by the HK/HB Alumni Association. Application recommended but not required.
Qualification(s): Student graduating from the Human Kinetics major in the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, with at least a B cumulative average. Selection by the College of Biological Science, on the recommendation of the departmental awards committee. The award recognizes a student who has contributed and provided leadership to the academic, administrative and social life of the department and the university, including academic activities (department / college committees, Senate, etc.), intramural and varsity athletics, support and assistance with class, college and university activities (such as HK/HB Symposium, College Royal, etc.). Nominations from faculty and students are submitted to the department by mid-February each year for students graduating in the subsequent June convocation or for students who graduated in the previous February or October convocations. Nominators should provide a two-page summary of why they are nominating the candidate.
Amount: One award of an HHNS medal
Alex Peepre Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship established by friends of the late Professor Alex Peepre. Application recommended but not required.
Qualification(s): Student entering semesters 7 or 8 in the Winter in an undergraduate program of study in Human Kinetics or Bio-medical Science majors, who has high academic standing and who displays marked qualities of leadership in the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences. In assessing student leadership, activity in student organizations, athletics, teaching assistantships, etc. will be considered.
Amount: One award of $500 and a certificate
John T. Powell Scholarship
Apply to the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences by mid-February.
Qualification(s): Student in semester 5 and above in the Winter semester who has maintained a 70% average or better; who is active in extra-curricular activities conducted by the University; who has contributed to the annual Human Health and Nutritional Sciences Symposium at the organizational and/or operational level; and who has been enrolled full-time in the Human Kinetics major for at least 2 semesters.
Amount: One award of $500
Brian L. Walker Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is not tenable with the Dr. Hugh D. Branion Memorial Scholarship. Application recommended but not required.
Qualification(s): Student registered in semester level 8 in B.Sc. Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences major in the Winter semester. The scholarship will be awarded on recommendation of the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences based on academic achievement in 6 Nutritional Sciences courses. Semester(s): 7
