The CBS Office of Educational Scholarship and Practice (COESP) is delighted to launch a new initiative for all Teaching Assistants (TAs) in the College: "Confidence in the Classroom", a unique orientation and training event to build self-efficacy and community among CBS TAs.

This event will be held on Friday, September 8, from 9 am to 1 pm in SSC2306, and is targeted to both new and experienced TAs from all departments.

Some of the topics we will discuss include the values and responsibilities that come from being a TA, the various roles TAs can have in the College, and how to combat imposter syndrome. TAs will have the opportunity to learn from each other, meet other educators in the College, and visit some iconic classrooms and labs in their respective departments. Students who have never TAed before will get a great overview of what to expect as TAs, and students who have some teaching experience will further develop their skills and network!

We ask that you please help us spread the word among TAs in your network -- whether you have worked with them, or will work with them this Fall or Winter. A kind nudge from you might encourage more TAs to take advantage of this opportunity!

Registration deadline has been extended until September 5 and students can sign up here: https://uoguelph.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1YArqtlOxINBVrM

If you have any questions, contact us at cbscoesp@uoguelph.ca

Thank you very much in advance for your support!
