Congrats to our April “G” Thanks [1] Winner! Wendy Turner!
Aunie Edwards shared in her Kudoboard nomination: I would like to nominate @Wendy Turner for her stellar leadership!!! As my direct manager, she consistently supports my professional and personal well-being with compassion and generosity. G THANKS @Wendy Turner
A virtual celebration was held for Wendy and several of her colleagues attended to celebrate with her.
Aunie shared: What a lovely opportunity to embarrass Wendy. You deserve all the kudos. Wendy has been my director manager for the past 5 years. She has the skills of leadership, but she also has the personality. Since the day I started, she has consistently been behind me, making sure I have all the tools to do well. Every time something great happens, or I do something, I know that Wendy has so much to do with that. She’s generous with her time. She teaches me every day. I recently had a personal issue... I tried everything. Eventually, I thought, “I’m just going to see Wendy”. She brought me kicking and screaming to the solution. She helped me with so much passion and support. I am just forever grateful to you Wendy for everything you have done and shared.
Kourtney shared: This is a very important opportunity for me to praise such an incredible partner and leader in AA&D. Wendy, you are authentic, loyal, smart and full of the Gryphon spirit. I feel so lucky to be able to put you in the spotlight and to make sure you know how much your work and friendship are valued.
Wendy joked: I am so uncomfortable. I feel like vomiting. It’s a really weird feeling. We spend so much time together that we have to take care of each other. We’re family.
Jason shared: 15 years Wendy WOW! That’s amazing. I remember my first phone call with you. I said to Natalie at the time. Oh, she’s going to be great. She seems to care. She’s personable. And since then, your passion for the University and donors has never wavered. I absolutely love your personality and sense of humour. I know you’re feeling uncomfortable, but you always know how to diffuse the tension.
Beth shared: Wendy, I think it’s so appropriate that you have been nominated. You are the best person I know at appreciating others. I have learned so much from you. So many themes around you are about appreciation. When it comes to appreciating donors, even when it comes to someone you don’t know! You know what will land and what they will respond to.
Wendy responded: There’s a bank in our body and I don’t know what it measures – recognition, “good jobs”. But it is very full right now.
Congrats Wendy and thanks for all your great work!
