Summary:

I received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree as a double major in Biology and Environmental Science in 2022 from Trent University, Peterborough. During the completion of my undergraduate degree, I conducted an honours thesis research project that was focused on investigating the underlying genetic mechanisms of invasive hybrid cattails in Southern Ontario.

My current MSc research within the Integrative Biology department here at the University of Guelph will be centered within the field of evolutionary biology. My graduate research project will focus on trying to better understand the relationship between pollinator decline and floral evolution. I’m also interested in investigating the relationship between nutrient availability and floral evolution. I’m hoping that my research will shed light on the ability of plants to adapt to environmental change. I’m very excited to be working with Professor Caruso and learning from her years of research experience within the evolutionary biology field.
