Support the Lang Students’ Association as they team up for charity

In support of the Coldest Night of the Year campaign, the Lang Students’ Association has put together a team with the goal of raising $1,000 and beyond. The money raised will support Lakeside Hope House, a local charity organization that provides programs and front-line services for those in our community who need it the most.

NFL Canada, Golf Canada among industry reps at student networking event

Last week, Lang students from the Guelph Sports Management Association (GSMA) hosted Nothing but Networking, an event to provide U of G students with the opportunity to meet and connect with several sport industry representatives.

The event featured industry representatives from NFL Canada, Golf Canada, the Guelph Nighthawks, PepsiCo Foods, Fluid Design/Guelph Rowing, TekSystems, and Gryphon Athletics.

Lang students recognized for academic achievements at Dean’s Scholarship Luncheon

On February 5th, the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics recognized the School's top academic business students at the annual Dean’s Scholarship luncheon.

The Dean’s Scholarship, which recognizes the top academic students from across the Bachelor of Commerce program, was awarded to 25 undergraduate business students. Award recipients were invited to the luncheon to recognize and celebrate their accomplishments and provide the chance to network and develop connections with the Dean’s office.

Lang students hit podium at real estate case competition

Last weekend, Lang real estate and housing students competed in Ryerson’s Expand Your Empire real estate case competition, placing third overall among student delegates from schools across North America.

Lang students compete for cash prizes in data analytic case competition

The Accounting Society of Guelph (ASG) hosted its annual Crack the Case competition last weekend, welcoming 40 student delegates to compete for cash prizes.

The competition was divided into two divisions, with prizes available for the top teams in a senior and junior division. The competition was open to all Lang students, but the cases were tailored to the accounting industry.

Lang students bring home seven awards at DECA U Ontario

Lang students from DECA U Guelph traveled to Toronto last weekend to compete among more than 1,300 student delegates from across Ontario in one of Canada’s largest undergraduate case competitions.

Eighty-seven U of G student delegates attended DECA U Ontario, which is their flagship event featuring a case competition, networking, and workshops throughout the weekend.

At this year’s competition, Lang students brought home seven awards, including two first-place finishes:

Lang students start new year strong at Central Canada’s largest business competition

Over 40 Lang business students traveled to St. Catherine’s earlier this month to compete in the annual JDC Central competition, the largest undergraduate business school competition in Central Canada.

The competition brings in student delegates from schools across Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. The multi-faceted competition spans over three days, with academic cases for eight business disciplines, parliamentary-style debates, sports tournaments, social competitions, and charity contributions.
