Researchers of all disciplines collaborate to tackle environmental issues
The launch of a new institute at the University of Guelph will enable researchers from all disciplines to tackle the world’s environmental problems through innovation and interdisciplinary collaborations.
The Guelph Institute for Environmental Research (GIER) will build on the University’s expertise in the environment and sustainability by bringing together researchers from all U of G disciplines, from business and engineering to fine arts and biology.

Lang students start semester off with podium finish
U of G students from the Guelph Student Investment Council travelled to Toronto last month for the annual Queen’s Finance Association Conference (QFAC). The conference ran from September 26th to 29th and featured keynote addresses, interactive workshops, a dynamic finance case competition, and exclusive networking events and dinners.

Spreading business across U of G: Lang launches 6 new minors
6 new minors will help boost U of G student's competencies in business as they enter the job market.
The Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics is set to launch six new minors for fall 2020 intake, available to students across the University of Guelph. The new minors will allow both business and non-business students (including those studying arts, sciences and agriculture) to add sought-after, complementary business skills to their degree.
Lang students lead campus sustainability group to Gold status
The Net Impact (Graduate) Chapter at the University of Guelph recently achieved Gold standing, a designation that is awarded to Net Impact’s top chapters across the world. Net Impact, which has chapters worldwide, aims to mobilize next-generation leaders to use their skills and careers to make a positive impact on the world.

Lang graduate receives national tourism research award
Last month, the Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) hosted their annual chapter conference, which brings together practitioners, educators and researchers from the tourism industry. At the conference, the TTRA announced the winners of two national research awards for undergraduate and graduate researchers.
