The Qualitative Accounting Research Symposium (QARS) brings together researchers and accounting faculty who share an interest in qualitative accounting research from diverse methodological and theoretical perspectives. The Symposium provides a high-profile forum for scholars (academics and research students) to discuss accounting practice and research issues in a social, political, and economic context of humankind. The Symposium features a keynote speaker and a panel discussion. The Keynote Speaker for this year is Professor Alan Sangster from University of Aberdeen (UK), and the topic for the panel discussion is: ‘What is Accounting History – ‘Subject’ vs ‘Method’’.
Registration
Registration is open up to November 15, 2019 and is free for both authors and participants. Paper Submission
The Symposium welcomes submissions (full papers) in any area of accounting such as management control, auditing, information systems, financial and managerial accounting, social and environmental accounting.
Deadline for submission is Monday, October 21, 2019 – Please use this link for your submission. Notification of acceptance will be sent to authors by October 31, 2019. Each paper accepted from emerging scholars (including doctoral students) will be assigned a discussant to support the development of their research. Accepted papers will be allocated 40-50 minutes each, including presentation and discussion.
