How have you improved your community?
"One of the ways I give back to the community is through sports, as it has taught me so many valuable lessons and given me so many opportunities. I have spent plenty of time at the University of Guelph over recent years as a ball person at all varsity field hockey home games and volunteer coaching athletes for the Guelph Cobras field hockey club. On high school student council, I took pride in promoting activity and sport by organizing tournaments, encouraging participation in intramurals, and helping with spirit days. During my time at the University of Guelph, I will continue to volunteer in the community but look forward to getting involved within the Lang Business school as well."
What does it mean to be named one of the Lang Scholars?
"It means a lot to me to be named one of the inaugural Lang scholars. I am extremely honoured and grateful for this award and am most definitely looking forward to beginning my education at Lang."
Why did you choose to attend Lang at the UofG?
"I chose the Lang Business school because of its great reputation and the vision of business being a force for good. I also valued the community feel and opportunities to get involved within different clubs/associations."
How do you think business can be used as a force for good?
"I believe that business can most definitely be used to improve life. Good business leaders inspire others and make decisions that contribute to a positive and successful environment. It is about the interactions and connections made on a day-to-day basis not just within local communities, but globally as well."
What are your career aspirations?
"Some career aspirations I have for myself would be working towards a CPA designation. Eventually, I would like to have a position in upper management where I would love to lead others and be responsible for the success of a team of people and the organization as a whole."
