For Dr. Mishra, it’s important that we understand peoples lived experiences in inequality, not just make assumptions. For example, “we often expect that people that are wealthier have better experiences, but that isn’t always true,” says Dr. Mishra.
“We need to understand peoples lived experiences of inequality.”
Unfortunately, inequality has been amplified through COVID-19. Dr. Mishra states that one way to improve equality is reducing organizational hierarchy. For example Facebook, Google, Apple employees work in teams of experts rather than a conventional structure. These structures in place increases cooperation and collaboration, therefore seeing positive results as a consequence.
