These two awards were established in memory of Dr. Donald Robert Phillips, OAC'66, a genetics researcher, and are awarded to graduate students in MCB on the basis of their contributions to research, as evidenced by their published papers, conference presentations, and achievement at the graduate level. In honour of the occasion, the 2022 recipients will present departmental seminars on their work:

Topic: “Investigating the role of hydrophobic and positively charged residues in the cryoprotection of Yfh1 by VrDHN1”

Topic: Charactering the gut microbiome of the Yanomami people

Topic: Exploring the impact of positive charge distribution on the ability of dehydrins to interact with proteins in vivo

Topic: Elucidating a role for glycogen synthase kinase-3 in the regulation of neuronal oscillatory function: Relevance to learning and memory
