Final Oral Examination - MSC.MCB - Jennifer Drolet

Jennifer Drolet, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in SSC 2315.    Her advisor is Dr. Scott Ryan. Thesis Title:  "Investigating the omega-3 fatty acid DHA in acting as an exogenous regulator of the antioxidant response pathway in Parkinson’s disease". Final Oral Examination - MSC.MCB - Christopher Kuc

Christopher Kuc, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend his thesis on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm am in SSC 2315.    His advisor is Dr. John Vessey. Thesis Title:  Staufen 1 is dispensable for NPC self-renewal and neuronal differentiation but plays a role in anchoring NPCs to the ventricular zone during corticogenesis All interested members of the university community are welcome to attend.

Rebecca Aggett, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. in SSC 1511.    Her advisor is Dr. Stephen Seah. Thesis Title:  "Characterization of multifunctional enzyme complexes from Comamonas testosteroni KF1 and Thermomonospora curvata DSM43183 involved in steroid side chain degradation". Zeeshan Shaikh, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend his thesis on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm am in SSC 1304.    His advisor is Dr. John Dawson. Thesis Title:  Regulatory changes in the α-cardiac actin variants H88Y and F90Δ implicated in early-onset hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Robyn Ralph, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 1:30 pm am in SSC 1511.    Her co-advisors are Dr. Sarah Wootton and Dr. Peter Krell. Thesis Title:  Characterization of Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus immediate early protein ME53: The role of conserved domains in BV production, viral gene transcription, and evidence for ME53 presence at the ribosome.
